Knead Me Massage
My name is Claire Cresswell; I have worked as a Sports, Remedial, Medical and Indian Head Massage Practitioner since 2001.
I qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist in 2001 and received my training in London at the London School of Sports Massage. Since then my clients have included The Brighton and Hove Rugby Club, Burgess Hill Football Club, and since 2007 I work with WTA/Lawn Tennis Association at Eastbourne each year for the women tennis players. I have also provided massage at the London Marathon, the London Triathlon, Mid Sussex Triathlons and Microsoft Challengers’ Trophies, and more recently working with Sally Gunnell providing sports massage and facilitated stretching in her healthy living team programmes.
When not working with teams, I practice at two clinics - my clinic in Hassocks and the long established Physio Therapy Centre in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. The techniques I use vary according to specific need and range from gentle to deep soft tissue massage to soft tissue release (STR). I have also completed a course in 2008 on medical massage (AMMA) that allows me to work in conjunction with Physiotherapists, Surgeons, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists and General Practitioners. This was a 3 year course and allows me to safely and professionally treat/massage patients that have diagnosed medical conditions and work with referrals from local GP’s and medical consultants.
I love the variation in my work and enjoy providing the best possible treatment for each individual. My clients come to me with a vast range of needs - sportsmen/women, those with very specific special or medical needs, day to day injuries or problems and those that simply require a relaxing massage to help calm the stresses of daily life.
I am CRB registered and treat children over seven years of age with parental accompaniment.
On a personal level, I have always been very involved in sport and have completed many Half Ironman events. In 2011, I represented Great Britain at my second IronMan in Roth, Germany (2.4 swim/112 mile bike /26.2 mile run). I am also a Level 1 British Triathlon Coach with the juniors that are coached in the triathlon club that I am part of. I live with my wonderful husband Tim and we have 3 rather mischievous cats. When I'm not working or training, my interests include reading, gardening, time with my big family, walking, and travelling. This year I am training for a Double Ironman in September 2017.
